Family photos

We attended a family wedding on the weekend and I am sad to say but these are our first family photos :-(

I am not sure why we haven't managed to get any before and I think ???? someone may have one of us altogether but the only one we have is the one that appeared in the birth announcements in the newspaper. Oh well it is better than nothing.

We had a great time showing off our newest family member and I loved seeing all of my boys looking so handsome.

Jack behaved beautifully throughout the whole day except for dinner and speeches at the reception, he woke up with tummy pains right on cue when entrees were served, so I fed him while I attempted to eat my dinner (seems to be the case more often than not lately) and then tried to pacify him while he made himself heard over the top of the speeches oh and then cried while he was passed around too. But once the music started he decided it was a great time to go to sleep, as you do because no-one can hear you crying over the top of the music anyway so why waste your breath ;-)

The wedding was in Berry NSW so we rented a holiday house that was able to fit 12 adults and 5 children, perfect for all of the family. It was lovely to spend time together but also very tiring, a big weekend with late nights and 5 hours drive each way. I am rather tired and trying to settle Jack back into a routine but he is really uncomfortable with colic and just not happy today so we have spent a lot of the day cuddling.

Jack is now 7 weeks old, not smiling yet (we were all trying to get his first smile over the weekend but no luck), he was weighed a week ago and put on 2 kg's since his birth, he had his immunisations last week and a check up with the Dr confirms that he is all good with no problems other than colic. We are using drops from the chemist and the Dr and the midwife assure me that he will most likely get better by 12 weeks as his system gets stronger. I can't wait, I hate seeing him in pain and not being able to fix it.

Time is speeding past and we are all loving our little boy, he is changing all the time and we love watching him grow and we are all looking forward to him reaching his milestones.

xx

Pretty Paper

I thought I would share with you all what I used my pretty paper for... the pretty paper I bought from this lovely shop in the Southern Highlands, One day last week I had to get new tyres (all 4) on my car so while I was waiting for them (in my lunch break) I went and looked for some interesting books that didn't have particularly nice covers but would make for an interesting coffee table/browse book. I found these at our local Salvation Army Store, which happens to be a block away from the tyre place. I used my pretty paper and my hot glue gun to cover the books,
they turned out like this.
For your chance to win some of this pretty paper stop here

My 1st Giveaway

Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend! We had nice one and managed to get a few things done! We spent Saturday morning digging (actually I think it was more afternoon by the time we got started). We have all agreed that digging is the worst renovation job. See the eight metres long path we dug out. We dug 50mm off the top in order to lay pavers and along the right side we dug the trench for the drain! It took us (all three of us) many hours and it really doesn't look like we did much!
However when we went to the rubbish tip and got weighed the truck came in at 3.4 tonnes.
I also managed to do some baking on Sunday, that was much more pleasant, especially eating the finished product.
Now what you have all been waiting for ; ) ............
I am so excited to have my very first giveaway in order to celebrate my 100th post (that I actually haven't posted yet!).
I hope you like what I have to offer.
The lucky winner will receive some wall decals.....
Similar to the ones I have used here.....
and 2 really lovely sheets of paper,
that measure approx 76cm x 53cm
that I bought from this lovely store in the Southern Highlands
See, here I am choosing the paper
I will also include a pack of six (blank inside) cards with envelopes featuring original photos from the Southern Highlands. I am sorry I don't have a photo of them but they are fabulous!

Southern Highlands

We had a lovely weekend away. The engagement party went well, dress requirements were cocktail wear so all of the guests looked wonderful. I love parties were everyone dresses up, there are so many pretty shoes to admire.
We spent Sunday and Monday exploring the countryside and eating. We ate a lot! There are so many beautiful houses/mansions in the Southern Highlands with wonderful gardens. So much to look at! Fortunately for me WH drove and I got to admire without having to watch the road.
We stopped at Berry to have some lunch at a cafe. It was so busy, people everywhere. We sat outside and people watched. I love people watching especially when there is such a variety of people around. After lunch we explored the museum and would definitely love to spend some more time looking through it.
We stopped at the local markets in Berrima and bought some yummy stuff from the fudge man as well as a yummy smelling candle from the candle lady!
Berrima has lots of lovely shops and buildings it was definitely a favourite and we will visit again.
Afternoon tea was at the Black Swan Inn in Berrima, we loved this place. If you ever visit Berrima you must stop and have a look through the building. Our tea and cake was lovely too!
We stayed at Berida Manor in Bowral it was a quaint place to stay and we had a lovely 3 course meal in their restaurant. The building has an interesting history but it is and old building so if you decide to stay do not expect anything fancy, however it was nice and for the price of our package nothing to complain about.
On Sunday we played golf, okay Nick played golf I walked along with him and admired the golf course. Then we had coffee in town and shopped and shopped some more then we had lunch at Briar's Country Pub in Moss Vale. Briar's was lovely and so was the food. We sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine and the fact that it was Monday and we weren't at work! Unfortunately we couldn't spend the afternoon relaxing there and we made our way home stopping at a few more shops, admiring more gorgeous homes and enjoying each others company.

Getaway

It is Friday night and I am finishing this wonderful week with a wonderful weekend. W.H (my Wonderful Husband) and I are going to an engagement party tomorrow night in Nowra (South Coast Australia). We have decided to make a long weekend of it and we have both taken Monday off so we can have some time away together. We been planning on visiting the Southern Highlands for a while now and we figured that this would be a great opportunity to do so. We are leaving our handsome Son, our dog and our cat at home with my Mum and the two of us are going to hang out together at the Sunday Markets, enjoying some fine dining and perhaps even playing golf. Most of all, I am looking forward to just hanging out with my best friend.
