Wednesday at my house

Today has been quiet

Nicholas left to go to camp this morning for 3 days and I miss him already 

It's always nice for hubby and I to have some time alone but this time I am particularly missing my big boy (must be all those extra hormones racing around)

I am sure he will have a great time away and I did offer to go as a parent helper, his response "Mum, I'd like some time on my own" Fair enough, I would just be continuously reminding him to wash his hands before he ate, make sure he had dry socks on etc..... being a typical mum :-)

There is not much new happening in our parts, I have new stock which I am slowly adding to the store and I currently have 20% off everything store wide, just use code FD20 when you checkout.

I have had people pop in to check out my goodies so I have started putting price tags on my store items to make them easily identifiable and because I can never remember how much something is when people ask.

I am also going to market in a few weeks time, so I figure pricing everything now is a good idea.

I have never been to market before so if you have any tips for me on running a stall etc I would love to hear them.

My House

I've been swapping things around again, it is always so much fun and it means I can display all of the new goodies from my store :-)

Remember this corner here,

a few lovely ladies commented on this tray and glass cover last time I showed you pictures and I am pleased to say that I was able to get a few in to sell and they are available now in store here for $49.95

I can think of so many uses for it, roll up your hand towels and display them in the urn, create a gorgeous floral display, I think it will look fabulous at Christmas full of pretty baubles too

A Touch of Silver

I finally got motivated enough to change up a few things around the house

I have had new stock for the store waiting for me to get around to photographing it for ages and I have just lacked motivation for it :-( 

So today I mustered up enough energy to switch a few displays around at home and take some photos

I haven't unpacked all of the new stock yet but at least I have made a start

None of it has made it to the store listing yet but I thought I would give you all a sneak peek.

A corner in my house

Goodness this is a late post for me, I think the school holidays have totally thrown my routine, I guess being sick hasn't helped either.

Thank you for all your get well soon wishes, I finally feel like I am on the mend, Yay!!!

Tomorrow I have an early start to go and pick Nicholas up from camp, I have missed him and I hope he has had a great time. 

We have a 3 hour trip home so he can tell me all about it!

I've had a little redo of my favourite corner. The joy of having lots of lovely things in your house. 

Even if it is only for a while :-)

A White Corner of My House

I think the best thing about having your own gift & homewares store is that you get to display gorgeous things throughout your home all the time!

It is so lovely to be able to change the decor when ever I like, or whenever something new arrives :-)

Right now, I love this corner, I love the white and

I love the lanterns, especially the big one.

It's makes a great feature piece

I don't even have candles in the lanterns and I love them :-)

The clock is just lovely

so pretty & French

Oh, and look what I received in the mail

that quite possibly has something to do with today's parcel...

My House, My Weekend

My weekend was fabulous! How about you?

We caught up with family and friends, relaxed, cleaned and stayed warm!

On Friday (not technically the weekend but I start early) my nephew and I baked.

We made cupcakes from here

and we decorated them. 

If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my nephew Vlad decorating each cupcake with lots of love and concentration. 

(If you don't follow me please look me up I only just joined but it is lots of fun)

He did so well.

We also made Michelle's fantastic Sticky Date Pudding you can find the recipe here.

My brother in law who was a chef said it was the best Sticky Date Pudding he ever had (maybe he has never had it before) and I think it was good even if  I say so myself.

For dinner we made pizza using Jo's dough recipe, that you can find here.

It also was a hit and we will definitely be using it again and again!

My new kitchen aid mixer that I got for Mother's Day works so well and I just love it!

On Saturday we cleaned and I rearranged, as I do quite often

I am loving the lanterns, the horse head bookends and the clock.

You may or may not have noticed that there are no photos or the yummy food we made, you see, even though it tasted fantastic,I could not photograph it so it looked as good as it tasted or any good at all really. So I think I need to practise baking and cooking pretty looking food then I need to practise photographing it. I think I may also need to start exercising regularly as well :-)

My house, my favourite corner

I shared these photos on FB yesterday and thought I would share them here too because it really is my favourite corner in the house at the moment.

The bus roll canvas is a room divider/screen that we can pull out and use to block the entry into the living room when we have guests staying. One of the lounges is a sofa bed so this helps to convert the living room into another spare bedroom and gives our guests some privacy. 

When we first moved into this house we thought that we would build a wall and block this entry to the living room off permanently (there is a doorway on the other side of the room also from the kitchen that we use most often) but after living here for a while we changed our mind. It is nice to have it open, it allows more light through the house, creates a sense of space and helps the heating/cooling to flow through.  

The canvas screen is leaning against my bookshelf, the bookshelf is part of my home office, my really small home office nook that I created in the corner of our living room

You can just see in the above photo the carpet join for the living room and the edge of my bookshelf. Between the bookshelf and the kitchen wall we still have an opening of 880mm plenty of room to walk through but perfect to block off with the canvas room divider when needed. 

Our reverse cycle air conditioner is on the wall just above the mirror, the bookshelf height is perfect as it still allows the air to flow into the lounge room.

Most of the items I have on display are available to purchase through my online store. I try to display things that I sell throughout the house so people who visit can see them and I get to enjoy them until they are sold :-)

I am not sure if I will sell the tray with the glass dome though. I only ordered two of them and I love them so much, they are great quality and they will be so handy in summer when we entertain outside a lot. Maybe I need to get some more in.

I added the new lacquered 'Love' sign to my store yesterday. The colour is just perfect for my neutral display, just enough red to add some interest.

Anna mentioned yesterday that  bit of green would be perfect, I think she is right. I am going to add a bit of greenery to my display by placing a little vase of greenery to the Fleur de Lys trainer. Just need to venture outside to get it. The frost this morning was so big I decided to wait for a while and let everything defrost.

Does yours change often? 

Mine does, sometimes all it takes is to move one thing and I can love it so much it becomes a new favourite, sometimes it can be the addition of new flowers or sometimes I move everything around and then move it all back again :-)
