Keep Calm and Carry On

Theses goodies have been sitting in various spots around the house for the last couple of weeks waiting for me to take some photos and add them to the store.

It's funny but this last week I often catch a glimpse of the red and I'll read the quote and I will "Keep Calm" and I do "Carry on".

It has been an interesting week, no major problems just trying to take it easy, not panic over every little twinge or ache and trying not to think negatively. Finding a balance between being aware of your body and picking up on anything that could be a sign of early labour without overreacting is tricky but I will just keep praying through it and continue to be thankful for each day that our precious bub stays put.

Anyway, enough whining, I really wanted to share my new goodies with you.

These coasters are a gorgeous colour and are $11.95 for a set of four. Get them here.

This sign is a fabulous size 60 x 80 cm and is only $49.95. You can buy it here.

I love the clock, cute and practical, only $22.95 from here.

and lastly a vintage take on burlap, 30 x 60 cm, $29.95 and available here.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Spring Cleaning via the Organised Housewife

Somehow today I came across the Organised Housewife Blog and I was inspired to get organised and join in her "20 days to organise and clean your home challenge".

I confess that the last few months once morning sickness and the pregnancy tiredness kicked in my motivation disappeared and everything suffered. I got out of routine and it was just so easy for the day to slip away and I didn't really achieve a lot.

Now that my energy has returned and the morning sickness has disappeared and Spring has sprung I am motivated to get organised and get my house back in order.

I am a week behind in the 20 day challenge but that's ok, I will still get it all done (I hope) and it is a great way to get me back on track.

Today I tackled the kitchen, I have no before and after shots because I really don't think you would notice much difference, it really is all the small stuff, greasy build up and small marks here and there.

Now it is all done and know that it is, I think that's the best thing when you clean, the satisfaction of knowing it's done.

Is anyone else doing the Challenge? How is your spring cleaning going? Are you an organised cleaner or do you just clean as you get the chance?

I would love to hear how you tackle your house work.

Blue & Green Art - Giveaway

Last night I was experimenting with some paper doilies and paint in preparation for a photo shoot that I am styling soon (very exciting!!!)

So I got through painting  the yellow doilies

Then as I was mixing the turquoise paint I got a little distracted

I just loved the colour,
it was so pretty,
so I grabbed some canvas and painted it,
as you do :-)

I liked the streaks in the paint showing the different shades of colour so I left the canvas just like that and went back to my original job,

Unfortunately I was a little distracted and tried to rush my doily painting and left the doily on the paper in the same spot I painted it so most of them have stuck to the newspaper and I will have to start again, doh!

That'll teach me for getting distracted.

The yellow ones are ok,

probably because I hadn't gotten distracted yet :-)

Anyway, back to last night.

After I rushed through the turquoise doilies I grabbed some of this

Mixed in a little of the paint and grabbed some more of these

and ended up with this

I am really happy with how they turned out and I just love the colour.

The thing is I have no where to put them.

So I want one of my lovely friends to have them.

Each canvas measures 15 x 15cm

and you can have the set of three.

Just leave a comment on this post and I will announce the new owner of an original "McCarthy Design"

:-)

on Monday.

Oh and one last thing, I usually try and spend my weekend computer free for the most part but I have so many gorgeous pics and some great quotes that I find during the week that I would love to share. So I think that I will make Saturday my "Favourite Pic of the Week" day and Sunday can be my "Wise Words of the Week" day.

What do you think?

Have a great weekend and for those of you lucky enough to have a long one. Enjoy!

xx

PS. Giveaway is open to anyone, just leave a comment and make sure I have a way to contact you.
