My space

One of the rooms we have been working on has been Nicholas' bedroom. He was fortunate enough to get a new bed, new desk and is waiting on some shelves to get installed. So no photo's of his room just yet!

It meant that his old bookshelf has now become mine to use!

You might remember that I created a little space for myself in the lounge room after Nick started working from home and took over the study.

I had set up a little desk for myself with my laptop so I could blog away and study without taking over the dining table or breakfast bar.

Now I also have a bookshelf.

I have room for my magazines, essentials for my study of course!

There is room for some of my favourite things

Lots of natural light through the day and a view of the TV at night if I just happen to be doing something boring like helping hubby with the invoicing!

Sometimes I wish I had my own room for my study but then I think I would still bring the laptop out most of the time so I could be around the people I love rather than in a room by myself!

What about you, do you have your own space?

xx

  1. I love the little area you have set up for yourself - I think it's in a great position near the window and as you say, you can still be where your family are. I love the shelves where you can keep all your magazines and favourite things too. Our computer is in our study, sometimes I wish we had a laptop so I can blog in the living room :) Have been thinking of you Nellie and hope you're doing okay. xx

I wish i could be a neater person!!! hope you are still doing ok. Are you still working every day? well, hugs to you, Laura c xxx

  4. Hi Nellie, I really like the area you have created for yourself. Its a great little nook and you can still be social. I don't have a specific area at the moment and the other annoying thing is that my laptop has to remain plugged in until I get a new battery for it. So I am not very mobile or social. It is a bit frustrating at times. I am on the lookout for a nice desk. ;-)

  7. The niche you carved out for yourself is perfect, and I love the bookcase! Both my husband and I work from home and have our desks just off the kitchen in our family room. We used to have a separate study in our old house, but I kind of like it this way! Of course when my desk is a mess I miss being able to just close the door and forget about it!

  10. That's a fantastic area...I can see why you love it. I do have a study but it's usually much messier than I'd like it to be and nowhere near as calm and ordered as your space looks :)

  11. Hi Nellie,

What a beautiful place to study! My desk is now in the lounge room as our little baby Charlotte has taken over my study. I wish my desk was always as tidy and clean as yours!

  15. I think it's nice to be able to have a little spot just for yourself and you've done a beautiful job of creating a lovely space to do your study. I don't really have one just at the moment, but maybe one day for now it's usually the lounge room.xo

  16. Hi Nellie, my study is about to undergo a big overhaul as I am in desperate need of some more storage. I wish I could have a little space downstairs closer to the family too, just for my laptop - may have to come up with a solution there. Your study area is really sweet - a little corner just for you. Love the way everything has a place and there is no clutter. Thanks for sharing. Michelle

I love your beautiful space, it's so cozy and perfect!! I just moved my computer into the living room today, it had been in my bedroom. Now I can be with the family and blog at the same time, a win, win!
Hope your doing well, I've been thinking of you a lot lately!
Take care and I'll talk to you soon.
    Sincerely,

  20. This is a charming space Nellie, so well organised. The problem with a separate room is you don't have the same pressure to keep it tidy all the time!
    Hope you are keeping well:-)

  22. You're back, hooray! Thank you for your lovely comment last night.. I'm working on a study space at the moment, it's going slowly as I have to do two things I don't like - painting and a trip to Ikea for shelving.. It's supposedly going to be for both of us, but my husband is claiming it! I think your space is gorgeous and it is nice to be with everyone..Rachaelxx
