Live, Life. Love

Hello my friends,

How are you all?

I seem to loose track of time lately

and a week manages to go by before I get around to posting again!

We are already in the last week of the school holidays and boy did the time fly!

January is always a good month for stepping back abit and

reassessing your life and your goals!

I didn't do a New Year's Resolution post

because I am not really good at keeping resolutions like loosing weight etc ...

I do like to have goals and I do like to have an idea of how my year ahead will look

Together with WH we decide what we want to achieve for us personally,

what we want for our family,

what things we want to be involved in,

what we want for the business,

what we want to get done around the house

We discuss if our wants are reasonable,

can we achieve them in a year?

what do we need to do in order to achieve them?

For us personally we are improving our lifestyle

we need to get out and exercise more,

go for walks,

ride bikes,

just move more in general.

We also want to grow stonger in our marriage

and in our faith so we aim to spend time together daily

in devotions and prayer

Those of you who have been around for a while

will know that we would like to increase our family

and we like to spend time with both of our families as much as possible

We would like our business to grow

and be at a point where it could be our sole source of income.

We would like to continue our invovlement with school and church

From all of our discussions and plans

we decided that in order for us to keep our life balanced

and achieve what we want for us,

our family and our business

that it was a good idea for me to reduce my working hours at the Bank.

So I am very excited to say that as of next week

I will only be working a 60 hour fortnight at the Bank

This will allow me to go home when Nicholas finishes school and spend time with him

as well as help out more with some invoicing for the business etc.

I will now have every Friday off!

I am so excited....

imagine all of the things I can do with a whole day off every week!

The house might get cleaned a bit more often!

How are you going?

Did you make any resolutions or goals for this year?

Now that we are almost one month in, are you still on track?

xx

all of the images were on my USB in a folder that I had been adding to over the years
so I am sorry but I didn't keep any references for them.

  1. So nice to see your blog pop up on my reader Nellie!
I think that's great that you make those plans and work out what you as a family would like to focus on for the year ahead. And how wonderful to be able to cut back on work to spend more time with Nicholas and the other things you want to do. I'm so excited, I'm sure all your hopes for the year will come to fruition!
    Big hugs,
    Jxx

  4. Nellie, so glad you are taking some time for yourself and family. Sometimes we all need to reassess our lives. I didn't make any new year resolutions..but will take one day at a time and not stress about the small stuff. Have a lovely 'rest of the week'. Kym X

  5. Sounds like a wonderful 'plan' for your year ahead. I think discussing these goals together as a family is really important. I have a small list of 'goals' for this year too - adding to our family is one for us also :) Wishing you much love and happiness for 2011 x

  6. Great to hear of your goals Nellie and so nice for you to have Friday's at home.
Personally I am hoping to contribute to the family finances with my upholstering so have plans to make this happen. It will mean I have to be more diligent with the use of my time. I'm hoping I'll be so busy that I won't have time to duck into the pantry every 5 minutes so should be a good weight loss program too!

  7. I did make some resolutions again this year, and I'm trying to mindful of them, some are easier to achieve than others I've found but that's why I have a whole year to try and achieve them:) I really like your idea of goals for your family, that you're all on the same page to achieving them.
Enjoy your New Year and having more time at home, I hope you get some time to yourself too. Have a wonderful week lovely. xo

  8. Nellie,

That's great that you have more time to do the things you love! Most of us wish we could do what you did so you have set a wonderful example. It's very important to live life the way you want to so that you and your family can be truly happy.

    Beautiful pictures by the way!

Hope you have an excellent new year and you achieve every one of your goals!

  9. Nellie,
It sounds like the rewards are the blessings you are to receive.

Beautiful home plan, and prayer plan, and for this you truly will be blessed.

Love the selection of photos you chose to inspire us, and the passionate post.

Many blessings to you and your business plan.

    In our prayers.

  10. Congratulations on your reduced hours Nellie, but more importantly the beautiful plans you have. I went to four days a week in the middle of last year and it's wonderful. Mind you, I don't think the housework gets done any more than it did before!

  16. I think over summer time everyone seems to be missing in action a little. It's much easier to be at the computer for hours in Winter. It sounds like you have made some really big and wonderful decisions this year. Don't clean the house....take a walk, visit a garden, have a bath, read a book. Relax. The idea is for you to recharge your batteries. Indulge yourself.
