Saturday Night

Monday again! The weeks just seem to fly by lately and before I know it we will be celebrating Christmas!
*
*
How was your weekend? Mine was lovely and wet and cold!
*
*
I try to stay away from the computer on the weekends (otherwise I find I can spend all my time lost is blog land and get nothing done) so I thought I that today I would share with you one of my favourite weekend moments.
*
*
On a typical Saturday we spend the day working either on the house or on the yard.
*
During winter we try to knock off at about 5.30pm and start to clean up.

Saturday night is Chicken and Chips night at our house. I either roast one or two chooks, we use leftovers and the 2nd chook for Sunday night dinner (which happens to be 'help yourself' night) and lunches throughout the week.o

We peel and chop the potato's

Cook the chips

Dessert is ready to go, so while we wait everyone spends some time on an activity of there choice

Jemima the cat finds her spot on the lounge and catches up on her beauty sleep

Boss the dog isn't so lucky he gets a mat and he has to stay on it,
*
life's tough...,
*
he gives in and makes the most of it.

Nicholas uses his time to catch up on some gaming
WH catches up on his gaming emails while I wander around and take photos :)
*
*
I love our Saturday nights, they are relaxed and easy. We eat in the lounge room while we watch a family movie.
*
*
Do you have any special family routines that you really enjoy?
*
*
Have a great week my friends.

xx

  4. Sounds like the perfect night in with chicken and chips for dinner and yummy apple pie for dessert. On the weekends at home we usually hang out and have lunch on the deck together with some nice fresh bread bought on Friday, simple but we love doing it. Have a wonderful week. xo

  5. Hi Nellie, sounds like a typical weekend in our house too. The only difference is that I try not to cook on the weekends. I reckon I deserve a break so we usually have take-away or as you do 'help yourself' Sunday nights. ;-)

  6. Hello Nellie....!!

Your Saturday sounds & looks LOVELY....!!

I WISH we had an easy going routine to share but the weekends are quite hectic & I find I'm mostly out & about away from home....!

There is Sunday morning though....I get to the Market at 5am & Mr SVJ arrives around 8am....We have breakfast together for an hour or so, read the papers & people watch....It's my FAVE time of the week....!

Speaking of which....I hope you have a GOOD one....!

    Cheers,
    Tamarah :o)

  7. Hi Nellie, what a great sounding weekend. It all looks nice and relaxed, and those chickens in the oven look super tasty!
Our weekend was taken up with more packing and loading the trailer for the move! But our tradition stood strong, we have mid morning Sunday pancakes that Hubby cooks for us all! Yum.

  8. Love those kind of weekends. Our was similar. It was a rainy and lazy weekend around here. Didn't get much done which is why I'm off to do laundry now!

  11. I love the sounds of your Saturday nights Nellie! I'd love to do something like that when Grace gets bigger and perhaps have a homemade pizza/movie night or something. It will be fun to create little family rituals as you've done.
