Truthful Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone!

My Tuesday is not as happy as it could be

I can not celebrate any weight loss as once again the scales did not move

I did make some small changes though and drank more water (with the encouragement of my friend Kerry)

Moved a little more

Ate a little less and chose healthier options

Everything helps doesn't it and I am sure I will feel better for it!

  2. Hang in there Nellie! You are doing all the right things, it will come off. Try not to just listen to the scale but more of how you feel and how your clothes fit. For me, I'd like my clothes to be a little looser ;)

  3. I'm sure you've done better with the water than I have Nellie. Off to fill up the water bottle right now! Good luck for next week. I'm just so impressed that you're keeping with it.

  4. Don't be disheartened Nellie you are on the right track, it will all come togethor for you!!! The scales don't always tell the true story, especially for us girls with our hormaone fluctuations, this makes us store fluid several times each month. Keep up the great work, my truthful tuesday was a dismal example to all. I promise to become a much more inspirational leader from here on in!!!
I love this house I drool over it regularly!!!

  5. awww... good luck and keep moving forward! sometimes the scales can be a really really negative plus its still wintery, its so hard to do exercise and eat healthy coz all you want is to eat warm wholesome meal :P for me anyway :) GOOD LUCK THOUGH! love your blog by the way!

  6. Oh Nellie you're losing weight? Well my best tips are:

no 1. try and avoid thinking about losing weight and what you're eating and drinking all the time it will only make you hungry! Get some big mind distraction and NEVER use scales, measure weight loss by how your clothes fit.

no 2. hard to do but make the 'smart choice' everytime you're presented with meal and snack options. But don't deny yourself anything or cut out any food groups.

no 3. avocados are excellent for getting rid of the naughty fats, beetroot is fantastic too.

no 4. exercise by talking long walks and listening to really funky music or dancing and pretending you're a pop star :-)

    Hope these help! xx

  7. Drinking a lot of water is a great thing.. and moving more great as well. ugh, I just wish losing weight was 'easy'. I seem to lose and then gain, lose and gain.. around and around I go.

  8. You're right, every little bit does help. That's how I always look at it. Sometimes I think, "what's the point of going for a run tonight, I haven't been once this week, what difference is it gonna make" then I challenge myself to remember that it will make a difference because every little bit is a step in the right direction. Don't be down on yourself. It sounds like you've had a successful week to me.

  9. What a lovely home! I can only dream about such tidiness for more than 5 minutes! Hope your hard work pays off soon, you know you are getting healthier even if the scales don't comply! Hang in there!
    Thanks for stopping by.

  10. Don't be down on yourself, you will get there soon and then we'll all cheer along with you when the scales go downwards :) Good on you for drinking more water - I really need to take a leaf out of your book there!! :)

  11. Nellie, it's the hardest time of year to try and lose weight. Keep on trying .... you are right every little bit helps and I'm sure soon you will start seeing the results of all your hard work. More water ... hmm ... I do believe I was going to try and do that this week! Michelle

  15. Dont worry Nellie, maybe its a hormonal thing. A friend of mine went to weightwatchers for ages and for two of every three weeks she lost a little, on the third week she gained a little even though she changed nothing. Hormones can be funny things!! Damn them!!! I am encouraged by all of your efforts though, with only 15 weeks till my brothers wedding, i need to lose two dress sizes! Time for me to focus i think!!!
have a great day today nellie,

  16. HANG IN THERE Nellie....Take it from one who KNOWS....You're on the right path....I will say though that I find the KEY for ME to be SWEATING & I swear by the following....If your 'movement' makes you sweat, your metabolism just DOESN'T have a choice....!!!

    Cheers,
    Tamarah :o)

  18. Things will change on those scales for you Nellie. It sounds like you made some good choices and drinking lots of water is a big tick, something I should do more of too. Take care and have a good week:) xo

  20. I here you. Have been trying to be really good, cut back on drinking, drinking more water, going the healthy option and my scales are not moving either, but I do feel better.
Have actually got the whole family on a bit of a health kick, have outed all "snack" foods from the house in an effort to get rid of additives in the kids food.
    Have a great day.

  21. Nellie,

Thanks for checking in on my baby's first day of big school. It is hard to parent sometimes as you said, but our persistence to be consistent does pay off in the end.

As we get older it is harder to maintain our weight and yet, you are maintaining it. So good girl for that! 64kg is nothing to be ashamed of! You are positively, pint sized! However, I understand, it is all about how we feel about ourselves and not alot to do with the scales. I'm with you on the no exercising in the wee, dark hours of the morning by the way.

I liked your pics and commentary on your family, roast chicken night. We also love to have a nice dinner and all potter about one another, enjoying our own hobby, side by side.

Thanks for returning to my blog, I also, have been and will continue to be very busy at work over the next couple of months. I read your post on the endless meetings routine... I so get it...

Great to hear from u xo
