I don't think that my house will ever be finished. My decorating seems to evolve over time. Take this wall for example.
This is how is was when we bought our house. Textured red paint, not so bad but if you look closely you can see that when the previous owners painted the skirting board they didn't bother moving the furniture they just painted up to it on either side!
After sanding and painting the wall and plenty of negotiation (WH thinks walls look great with nothing on them, he just likes to admire the paint on a blank wall???) the wall looked like this.
I was happy with that for over a year and then I discovered I have a fascination for lettering and numbers, so I added some.
I love how the words have added an extra element to the wall
I wonder how this wall will look in another 12 months time?
Have a great weekend
We have a public holiday on Monday and I scored today off as well so I am looking forward to 4 days at home to catch up on endless housework and study!
I am linking up to Favourite Things Friday over at Jessica's lovely blog A Few of My Favourite Things. Go and check it out.

ReplyDeleteI really love your gallery wall Nellie and especially like the addition of the text. I've come to realise that I will never be 'finished' decorating our home either and that there will always be something to change or update. Hope you have a great weekend x
ReplyDeleteI love the lettering you added. It makes it feel more complete. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteMy house will never be done either. As soon as I think it is, it will be time to change something. I love the addition of the words. It just completes the photo wall.

Awesome photo wall Nellie! I have a hard time with decorating walls..
ReplyDeleteSo funny about the previous owners not painting the baseboard moulding! Must have been something very heavy sitting there! lol!
Enjoy that 4 day weekend! Josh has one more week of school before summer break.. Cant wait! :)

Hi Nellie, I love your photo wall & the words just make it perfect, we suffer a combination of my husband also likes bare walls & Im not sure how to decorate them so we end up never achieving that warm homely feeling. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Hi Nellie, I really like the addition of the lettering to your picture wall - it looks great!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so good! But what is it with those previous owners and the paint around thing...why do people do this? I also don't understand people who don't cover stuff when they paint so all their objects get that paint spatter look... what a great wall you have created though I love it, cheers Katherine
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't change it, I love it the way it is. I love the frames and nice colour too..Rachaelxx
