Happy Days

I had all intentions of writing a post yesterday but I am very thrilled to say that I had my first 'Official' (woo hoo getting paid) interior styling job yesterday. I was so excited when I got home I started straight on the mood boards and got carried away. Not much else happened around here yesterday. I unpacked a box of goodies but they came out of the box and into to neat piles on the floor :-)

Vintage Suitcases

What are your thoughts on vintage suitcases?

Do you like them, loathe them, have some yourself?

I have been on the lookout for some for ages, they had to be the right size, colour and most important...

....the right price.

Then when I was least expecting it, there they were

and best of all they were free!

Aren't family wonderful?

Especially when they give you great stuff and expect nothing in return.

Vintage suitcases are so versatile, they are great for extra storage, they double up as a side table and  I think they look fabulous.

I have used my suitcases to store the spare linen for our room, the guest room and the sofa bed.

I love them,

the colours are perfect and they have so much character.

I'm having fun this week taking photos for my store. It is very time consuming though and my photography skills are quite lacking, seems that I may have to spend some time learning how to use the camera properly. Hubby does have heaps of mags for me to learn from but if you have any suggestions for great 'how to' photography blogs or online tutorials please let me know.

Anthropologie

I finally had a look at the Australian Anthropologie site and did a bit of window shopping. I haven't looked at what is available in the US and I have only browsed the homewares section so far but I did find a lot of lovely things. Here are some of my favourites.

I am sure I would be more interested in baking if I had these cute aprons to wear.

I won't be buying any of these things, I am going to have to be satisfied with window shopping for now (trying to save money so I can retire.....), however Mothers Day is just around the corner and those aprons are really quite practical! How about you, do you have a wish list?

I have come up with a few ideas for my first giveaway, so stay tuned as I will announce it in the next few days. I am so excited I hope you like it!

Birthdays

Aren't birthdays great (apart from getting older). I got so spoilt today. Both my wonderful boys made me feel so special, loved and appreciated. They made me feel like a Princess, from coffee and gifts in bed this morning to my cooked dinner tonight, I believe I still have a back and neck massage promised tonight as well. Hmmmm.... I am so blessed.

I have lots of great reading to do while we're on holidays. I received Annette Tatum's new book,

and Vicki Archers new book....

and a pressure washer ( I am not yawning I am trying to look excited)...

Fortunately for me it wasn't a pressure washer but a beautiful cloche and pedestal base. Along with a few other things. I am one lucky girl....

It was definitely a great day, thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts and birthday wishes. I feel so blessed!
