A Touch of Silver

I finally got motivated enough to change up a few things around the house

I have had new stock for the store waiting for me to get around to photographing it for ages and I have just lacked motivation for it :-(

So today I mustered up enough energy to switch a few displays around at home and take some photos

I haven't unpacked all of the new stock yet but at least I have made a start

None of it has made it to the store listing yet but I thought I would give you all a sneak peek.

Hope you week is fabulous so far.

Favourite Pin of the Week

Nicholas turns 13 this year,

I am thinking that  an outdoor movie night would be a great idea for his party

Vintage Tea Party Photo Shoot

My very creative friend Kiah from Stephens Photography organised some local ladies to work together to help promote our businesses, so on Monday a group of us met to put together a vintage tea party photo shoot

I was asked to style the photoshoot and I was so excited!

It was fantastic getting my ideas together and planning for the big day.

Unfortunately we live in Orange and getting a nice day at this time of the year is pretty tricky so after a few postponements we finally went ahead and bit the bullet

As you can see from my behind the scenes photos it was pretty gloomy and cold! I started setting up about 1pm and I was praying for the wind to die down a bit, hanging the lanterns was easier when they weren't swinging around wildly.

Our models were all so excited, I guess for them it was like one big party and yes they did get to eat all of those yummy treats at the end, I may even have sampled an oreo cake pop too :-)

The models were all so professional and braved the cold, mummies were on hand to wrap them up in between photos and I think they all looked so adorable.

Kiah's photos look fantastic, she has done a great job off capturing the girls having fun and showing off all of our products at the same time.

You can pop over to Stephens Photography album here to have a look at the photos so far, they really are fabulous and there is a great one of my foot stool I featured last week.

All the lovely ladies involved are listed below:

Photography by Kiah from Stephens Photography

Styling by Nellie McCarthy from McCarthy Designs & Occasions

The delicious candy bar and pink lemonade beverage stand was supplied and decorated by  Kristy from Candy Chic

The outfits were handmade by the very talented Toni from Two Little Chimps

Cake was made by Barb Last from Barb Last Cakes

Our beautiful models are - Holly, Abby, McKenna, Allera, Eliza and Sienna.

Zone Athletics

We had a great day in Dubbo yesterday for the Zone Athletics Carnival.

It was sunny with just a slight breeze, Perfect.

Nicholas had a fantastic day and came 2nd in shot put and javelin so it looks like we are off to the State Carnival in Sydney next month.

I am so proud of him and so thankful that I was able to go and spend the day with him.

Here is another sneak peak of our photoshoot on Monday, more on that still to come.

Busy Days

We are having a busy time here lately but it is all good and very exciting!

We had 4 birthdays to celebrate in our family last week and that  is always fun :-)

Nicholas has made it to the Zone athletics carnival for 4 (maybe 5) events, yay! So we are off to Dubbo tomorrow to watch him compete

and today I had the pleasure of working with some fantastic ladies and some gorgeous girls.

If you follow me on Instagram or Face book you may have already seen this sneak peak of our day today.

I have some behind the scenes photos to share with you next time.

Hope you all had a great weekend and a fabulous start to the week.

Endless Wardrobe

The lovely and generous Trish recently hosted a fabulous competition that I was lucky enough to win, Yay!!!!

Endless Wardrobe was kind enough to provide the winner with a gift voucher to their online store.

I am so excited and thoroughly confused there is so much to choose from.

They have a great range and great prices you should pop over and have a look.

I am a huge fan of online shopping, I find it is particularly good on a Friday night when the Footy is on. I can sit next to hubby while he watches and I use my laptop to shop :-)

Thank you to Trish and thank you to Endless Wardrobe for my great prize

Hope you all have a great weekend

Tea Party Inspiration

A friend of mine who also happens to be a fantastic photographer has organised a group of local ladies who run their own business to participate in a photo shoot.

As well as displaying some products from my store I will be styling the photo shoot :-)

I am so excited about it

These are some of my inspiration photos

What do you think?

We are all set to go and just waiting on a sunny dry day.

Unfortunately this is Orange and it is Winter, it might take a while

photos are from my Pinterest board here, you should be able to find original sources there.

Before & After - Footstool

School holidays are over, it is nice having a break from the usual school routine but it's nice to get back into it too.

I am finally feeling well enough to get back into my walking and even tried some yoga today, though I might have overdone it starting both on the same day :-)

We had a pretty quiet weekend here making the most of the last few days before school went back resting and just hanging out.

I finally got motivated enough to complete a really little project that I am ashamed to say has been waiting for  almost a year.

We bought this cute little footstool from a Second hand store in a little town not far from Orange.

Nick really liked the patina on the stool as is, so I resisted my urge to paint it white and just gave it a quick sand to clean it up.

See, not much different

I even bought the material for this project months ago,

I have just been so slack!

I did make an attempt about 2 months ago to finish my foot stool so I stopped in to our local upholstery store only to discover that they no longer sell foam, they only use it for their own work :-(

There is no where else to buy it from in Orange so I had to leave it until we were next in Bathurst, Sydney or Dubbo at a time when the store was open.

Then on the weekend I had an idea to use a cushion insert instead, not quite what I originally planned but it worked and it was actually easier as I didn't have to sew anything!

I just used the very handy staple gun and voila!

all done, and in less than 3 minutes!

When I need a change I can paint it white and replace the top with a square cushion, add some piping and it will be like new again.

What do you think?

Easy and very comfy.

A little break

I just wanted to let you know that I am going to have a bloggy break for the rest of the week and enjoy the last few days of the school holidays.

Hope you all have a great week and I will be back on Monday.

Ever since we went digital, I rarely get photos printed.

I am so slack.

I used to scrapbook all the time, I loved adding photos to the albums and telling a story.

That just doesn't happen any more.

Maybe I need to learn how to digitally scrapbook, that may work!

These gorgeous albums make me wish I had photos to fill them with

They would look so lovely on the coffee table
always ready for you to look through and remember.

Both styles are now available in my store

How about you, do you print your photos on a regular basis or are you more like me and leave them all saved on the PC?
